Jura’s whisky distillery was established in 1810 and reborn in 1963 to bring life back to the island and the community. Their dedication, enhanced by a very distinct micro-climate, results in unique whiskies that are smooth, bright and lively, just like the tiny island community who make them.
The Jura Hotel is the perfect basecamp for which to explore the island. From the peaceful village of Craighouse, the Jura Hotel has breathtaking views across the water and is metres from the world-famous Jura Distillery.
Golf at Ardfin
Ardfin’s course is the result of herculean effort. It was designed and built over six years by legendary golf architect, Bob Harrison, whose impressive work includes the Moonah, Ellerstan, The Grand and Nirwana, Bali. He believes golf courses should look as natural and as spectacular as possible, a goal he has excelled at with Ardfin. The acclaimed final layout was the 14th concept developed, and no stone was left unturned in an effort to find the best configuration and the greatest number of inspiring holes to play.
