Jura’s whisky distillery was established in 1810 and reborn in 1963 to bring life back to the island and the community. Their dedication, enhanced by a very distinct micro-climate, results in unique whiskies that are smooth, bright and lively, just like the tiny island community who make them.
The Jura Hotel is the perfect basecamp for which to explore the island. From the peaceful village of Craighouse, the Jura Hotel has breathtaking views across the water and is metres from the world-famous Jura Distillery.
Explore the village of Craighouse with spectacular views across Small Isle Bay. Walk down to the Old Pier where you will find quality crafts in Camella Crafts and The Whisky Island Gallery & Studio. If you’re lucky, Deer Island Rum Distillery might just be open as well.
From Craighouse, it’s about a 2-mile walk or cycle to relax on the beautiful beach at Corran sands.
ARGYLL & BUTE COUNCIL FEOLIN FERRY
